Description:    
There was a bridge here in 1258. The west, north, and east routes into the town were turnpiked by the Langport, Somerton, and Castle Cary trust in 1753, the stretch from Cary bridge to Kingsdon in 1777/81

The river Cary runs through this parish under a stone bridge of three arches, a quarter of a mile northeastward from the town.2
