Description:    
Plate girder railway bridge. Replaced the original 1860’s lattice girder bridge built by the Midland Railway Company and known as bridge No.35. The original bridge had ten cast iron columns or screw piles that formed the central pier were replaced by a large single concrete pier. The bridge was replaced to cater for the larger and heavier locomotives. See 1934 News Article and also This follow up Article
